THE SHAPE

We are looking for a design that doesn’t waste energy. A wide nose for the maximum float as well as a small setback camber for the necessary pop. The tail slimmer than the nose to keep calm blood at high speed. A directional freeride sidecut which gives the snowboard the necessary surf feeling, while a swallowtail ensures fast turns in the steep cullies of our native spruce forests.

paeng_snowboards_wide_nose

WIDE NOSE

Extra wide nose for the big days when you need that extra float besides bringing your snorkel.

paeng_snowboards_swallow_tail

SWALLOW TAIL

Short, tipped swallow tail for extra fast and short turns in every terrain.

THE MATERIALS

Besides our carefully selected regional Swiss wood, we use a high-grade graphite enriched P-Tex base, steel edges, Tryax fiberglass, side panels, ABS and high quality inserts for our snowboards. Simply a snowboard free of compromises for the handful of days, which bring us back into the powdery mountains year after year.

paeng_snowboards_local_wood

LOCAL WOOD TOPSHEET

The topcoat is made out of local birch sorted by us and our veneer dude. Birch is easy to work with and bends well. A ride through a bunch of birch trees on birch is not to beat.

paeng_snowboards_sintered_ptex_base

SINTERED P-TEX BASE

The base is made out of sintered P-TEX 4500. So you’ll probably be able to order the first round of beers, waiting for your friends at the Busstop Bar.

paeng_snowboards_steel_edges

STEEL EDGES

Yes it is equipped with handbent stainless steel edges. Less drag in the snow and great carving performance: check.

paeng_snowboards_triax_fiberglass

TRIAX FIBERGLASS

Two layers of it arm the board and give the necessary flex and torsional stiffness. Locally inserted carbon strings allow the board to snap back.

paeng_snowboards_handprinted_screen_print

HANDPRINTED DESIGN

Using a traditional screen printing technique whereby a mesh is used to transfer ink by hand onto a substrate, except in areas made impermeable to the ink by a blocking stencil.
